Food, table, atmosphere all 5 stars and they do a killer coffee. Not to mention the amazing food. Loved that none of the chairs matched and the table was a converted sowing machine. Service was fast and food was great

C’est magnifique! We visited on a sunny Friday evening, enjoying wonderful food in this fantastic restaurant. The food is famously fresh and delicious, but what I was not expecting was the sincerely friendly and good humoured service. We will be back to enjoy the joie de vivre!

Simply wonderful food, service and setting. Antoine and his team made our meal here one of the best experiences we have had on our UK trip to date. They even dropped us back at our accommodation because we couldn't get a cab! The bouillabaisse was superb, with delicious fresh fish and wonderful nuanced depth of flavour. The lamb rump also excellent. The lobster Caesar was something I've never had before, but again magnificent with generous portions of lobster. This place is a must visit and it's only an hour from London... Go before it gets a Michelin ⭐!

Best lunch we’ve had for a long time! The food was perfection with such high quality ingredients: the biggest king scallop we’ve ever seen, a beautiful beef fillet and delicious creme brûlée. They really care about providing the best service and food in a relaxed, friendly manner, which gives a wonderful experience all round. Our hostess even took our baby for a tour around the restaurant to free up our hands for eating. Highly recommend!

After living in Benson for a little under 5 years, we tried La table d'Alix last night for the first time, and what a lovely place it was. Superb food, super friendly attentive service, and a nice welcoming atmosphere. We really couldn't find fault with anything, we'll definitely be back! It was so good that we almost missed our taxi home, we'd totally lost track of time! Thanks to the chef for speeding along our deserts and our host & waitress for the complimentary drinks at the end :) Great stuff!

Stunning food from a smaller menu allowing each dish to be Magnifique. I have eaten here for years when I am passing & indeed used to frequent the Swan at Tetsworth where Antoine cooked prior to La table D' Alix. Quirky shabby chic decor with mismatched chairs & table adds to the ambiance & one can easily be fooled into thinking one is in France. Great local ingredients & a real Michelin style touch from the chef always adds up to a fantastic experience. At the very least it deserves a bib gourmand from the eponymous guide. Bravo & keep up the stunning cooking. Lovely garden out back for warmer days.

We had an amazing meal at La Table to celebrate our anniversary. Everything we could ask for - great food, delightful and engaging service. Beef fillet was cooked to perfection, the tarragon dressing was incredible and the creme caramel was beautiful. Thank you for such a great experience!

We were visiting the area for the weekend celebrating 50th birthday. La Table D'Alix was a salivating experience which we really enjoyed. A lovely warm welcome by the restaurant owners Antoine and their staff. Very helpful and informative on the menus and ingredients. En attendant - Freshly baked bread buns with local butter. Saucisson, a generous sliced cured meat with hazelnuts and gherkins. Tasted very nice and was good whilst the chef prepared and cooked our order. I ordered a Raspberry Cosmopolitan which was served with an orange peel lighted then served in the cocktail to release the orange zest aroma. Starters - Cheese soufflé, soft tasty and Cheesy and the accompanying sauce was delicious. Sea scallops, tender, went beautifully with the pancetta and celery micro greens. Mains - Cod, again tender soft and flaky, curry sauce not overpowering, very nice flavour. Hunters Chicken, tenderly cooked and moist with flavourful olive tapenade and basil, the kale was seasoned well and crisp. The Romanesco nicely charred. Desserts - Tarte tartin, sweet pastry with caramelised fruit. Chocolat surprise, oh my word this was soo good! A Chocolate mouse that had a praline biscuit base that resembled maltesers flavour, the mouse was gorgeous and I loved the caramelised crispy zest decorated on top which gave the dessert a hint of sweet lemons. The Staff pleasantly surprised by adding a sparkler candle to my husband's dessert and singing Happy Birthday which was really thoughtful, kind and made the occasion special. Thank you so much! :-) Wines - Upon asking the restaurant owner advice on wines, I had a glass of white wine which was light and fragrant. It accompanied the chicken very well. I also had a dessert wine which was again light, softly sweet and fragrant. We have dined at a few Mitchelin restaurants and this has been an overall very pleasant experience. The Bill was in my view very reasonable for fine dining. I liked that the owner's family participated in the dining experience and it reminded me of time spent in France dining with family and friends. Thank you.
